Last Day in the Jungle

 

I just want to post a quick Happy Birthday to the man who taught me everything. Dad, you have always been an inspiration to me and a role model in every aspect. I'm sad I'm not there to give you a big hug and kiss on your 30th ;) b-day but I'll be home tomorrow to greet you with a big hug and a bad sunburn. Day 1 Ceiba Tops

Hi family! This morning we went bird watching and it was really cool. Then we did the canopy walk! It was so cool to see the rainforest from up above. On the way back it started pouring!! I ablsolutely loved it because it was exactly how I pictured the rainforest to be. I can't wait to come home and see you all, and eat a burger and fries with bbq sauce!! Love and miss you. -Caitlin

Hi Duceyclan, miss you guys a ton, and can't wait to come home and have bacon and pizza rolls. However, I am having so much fun. We hiked up to the Canopy Walkway after bird-watching, and it was so amazing even though we didn't see very many animals. Now we are at a wicked nice resort with a hot tub, pool, and water slide... which was an awkward transition, but a great one. Looking forward to a more relaxing day tomorrow, and I can't wait to see you guys Sunday night(: Say hi to Steffen for me and please let him know that I'm alive. I love you guys. -Emily

Hey guys! It's Bethany again. Today we did a number of amazing things. We started the morning off with an early boat watch and bird watching. I thought of grama because of her love of birds. It was truly amazing. After the morning adventure we went back to the lodge and had breakfast. We ended our time at the Napo lodge with the amazingly cool canopy walk. Wow! Talk about amazing views and nice hike to get there. We later took another nice boat ride to our next and final lodge ceibatop's. It's defiantly a step up. It's has hot water and a pool. Hahaha! ... Well I'll post again later. I love you guys all so much! I am having a great time.

Day 1 in Ceiba Tops

We're in a super nice hotel now, with a pool and air conditioning. It's bittersweet but I look forward to seeing family again. Had an amazing night translating for the shaman. I love you and miss you Chris and I really look forward to our sleepover when I get home -Alicia

We're at Ceiba Tops now, a really nice resort that's the last stop before we head to Panama. It's beautiful, but I'll miss our jungle life. The canopy walk was incredible, we got to stand on top of the world. Love you and see you soon! -Hannah

Day 2 in Napo #2

Heyoooo it's Rachel again. So we also planted and chopped down trees at the village, and we played a giant, rainy, muddy soccer game against the kids after we gave them new soccer uniforms and cleats. It was so much fun, and it felt awesome to help the people of the village and bond with them. Overall, it'd been great here so far! I'll tell you more when I get back, and I love and miss you all so much, especially Mom and Dad! And Kathleen, I'm sending you a millions hugs again. I love you!! - Rachel :)

Hey you guys! Wow do I miss you but I am having a blast here. These experiences I am having have truly been some that have changed the way I look at life. The group has gotten so close. When you get to the Amazon the differences are put aside. We're not a group anymore but a family. I can't wait to share my Amazon adventures with you guys but I got a few more days here to make more. Day 2 in Napo

Hey fam, the past two days have been incredible. We spent both days In the village of Urca Miraño. We played games with the kids, made books with the kids, learned about their community and so much more. It's honestly indescribable. I met a little boy named kioney. He became my little buddy for the two days and it was so sad to say goodbye to him and the village today. I can't wait to tell you more about it. Love and miss you guys. -Willow

Hi mom and dad, I've been having the time of my life down here and only wish I could have more time to see more. We spent the last two days in one of the local village communities and experienced their unique culture and lifestyle. Hey mom, dad, and Sara/Bri/Tyler, these past two days have been absolutely incredible. Yesterday morning we were welcomed by hundreds of beautiful smiling faces of the Urca Miraño village and we spent today making books with the little ones and playing in a soccer tournament. Hi emmers, mom and dad, how have you guys been doing? These past two days have been amazing. The people of the Urca Miraño village are the sweetest most gracious and genuinely happy people I've ever met. We played soccer and jump roped and I let a little boy take my camera and run around and take pictures with my camera,he was so happy. I didn't want to ever leave that village. Hi family! The past few days have been so incredible! We worked with the village and I met so many incredible people. When we arrived both days, hundreds of very happy children welcomed us with open arms. We bonded with them as we danced, sang, wrote books, played games like soccer or Simon says, and canoe races. The people were so welcoming and happy we were there; it was amazing and I didn't want to leave. No where else have I ever experienced this embrace with just only two days of knowing people. Even with the language barrier I got to know a few kids really well. I can't wait to share more with everyone. I hope you are all having a great vacation!
